Law, as it is perceived, is undergoing a tectonic shift in its means of application, innovation and implementation. Never before was the need to go back to the drawing board and understand, review and relook into the foundations of law and legal systems felt as strongly as it is being felt in recent times. The new millennium has thrown open, in equal measure, many opportunities as well as challenges and the discipline of law is impacted due to this like any other sector. In this evolving times, the necessity for law to connect with different walks of life, especially morals and value judgements, is exhibited more than ever. Indian society in particular and world in general are staring in the face of unprecedented dynamic transformations taking place and these new vicissitudes call for a constructive inter-disciplinary dialogue to stabilise the roots of the legal order.
